A platform for the communities that get passed over

Every town has talent. We bring the cameras.

The Recruit Foundation gives underserved athletes and local businesses a platform to be seen, and teaches students who don't play how to produce the coverage themselves.

Our mission

Talent has never depended on a zip code. Exposure has. We exist to give underserved communities, their athletes and their businesses a platform to be seen, and to teach the students beside them to run the camera, ask the questions and tell the story.

Be seenA player nobody films is a player nobody recruits. We put coverage where it has been missing.

Be heardLocal owners and community voices get a microphone, a studio and an audience.

Be trainedStudents leave with real production and journalism skills, and a portfolio that proves it.

What we do

Three ways onto the platform

A football player in a red helmet and white number 28 jersey jogs across the field at a night game

Athletes

Film that reaches a coach's desk

An offer usually starts with someone seeing a player. We cover the games that never make the highlight shows, cut film athletes can send, and build profiles that put names in front of college programs.

  • Game-day photo and video coverage
  • Highlight reels and recruiting profiles
  • Recruiting guidance for athletes and families

Businesses

The storefront gets a spotlight too

Local owners carry their neighborhoods, usually without a marketing budget. We put them on camera and on the mic with features, interviews and podcast conversations that reach new customers.

  • Business features and owner interviews
  • Podcast and studio sessions
  • Coverage of community events

Storytellers

A seat behind the camera

Students who don't play still belong on game day. We teach media production and journalism with real equipment and real assignments, so they leave with a skill that pays.

  • Camera, lighting and audio
  • Editing and graphics
  • Reporting, interviewing and writing

Coverage

Friday night lights. Tuesday night gyms.

The big programs already have a media team. We show up for the small gym, the away game and the kid whose best night would otherwise live on one parent's phone.

The next level

From the highlight reel to the campus visit

Exposure only matters if it leads somewhere. We help athletes and families understand the recruiting process and see for themselves what a college program looks like from the inside.

Media production and journalism

Not every student plays. Every one of them can cover it.

Students learn the craft by doing the job. Each track ends with work that gets published under their name.

Camera and lighting
Framing, exposure, three-point lighting, and shooting live action from the sideline.
Audio and podcasting
Microphones, levels, recording a clean interview, and producing an episode start to finish.
Editing and graphics
Cutting highlights, building a story in the timeline, titles and lower thirds.
Reporting and interviewing
Finding the story, preparing questions, and getting names and facts right.
Sports writing
Game recaps, player features, and writing on deadline.
Publishing
Getting the work out on web and social, with credit to everyone who made it.

The students we train produce the coverage. The coverage gets athletes and businesses seen. That is the whole model.
